Kiwi Avontuur

Today was a real harsh winter day in the Netherlands, a day I hope we won't get again while Saskia and I are here. I had to travel about 120k by car, which took 5hrs! All the motorways where completely covered in snow and we could drive an average of about 40kph where you would normally be able to do 120kph. Also I had to go and see Saskia and her family in North Holland, but unfortunately I didn't make it due to cancellation of trains in all of Holland!
Although all this snow is a bit of a pain if you have to travel it is very beautiful! Travelling does get a bit dangerous as we found out on the motorway. A car in front of us hit a bank of snow and spun-out ending up backwards in the shoulder. No damage/ casualties, just an interesting site and reminder of the treacherous conditions.

By the looks of it the snow will stay untill Christmas making it the first white Christmas since 1981! I know it's special that we're here again, but Mother Nature is really going all out!
